Edad y preparación: Seleccionadas de bambú de entre 5 y 15 años, con especial atención a las de pared más gruesa cerca de la raíz (unos 10 mm). Estas cañas se han secado cuidadosamente durante más de 3 años para garantizar su estabilidad y evitar que se agrieten.
Carácter único: Cada caña es única, excepcional y seleccionada a mano por expertos luthiers, reconocidos por su dureza, alta densidad de fibra y contenido de aceite. Si necesita bambú Madake de gran tamaño, con un diámetro interior de 2,9 a 3,7 cm, deberá ser cosechado especialmente, lo que lleva entre 8 y 10 días. Recibirá bambú Madake verde fresco (tras recibirlo, deberá secarse al aire libre a la sombra durante más de 5 meses hasta que adquiera un color amarillo, momento en el que podrá utilizarse para fabricar un shakuhachi).

I was looking for some extra large diameter for big bore shakuhachi that was not offered in the shop. Tiger steven responded to my request and got some bamboo in this diameter harvested especially for my needs. I received it green so I can dry it myself. It was well packed and arrived in good condition. Like always, every piece is useful and worth the price. Thanks for taking the effort to help me with the diameter I was looking for!

I ordered here again and now made several flutes from this bamboo already. I am very happy with the results. I only make Jinashi flutes in old style with nodes not filed down completely, so the placement of the nodes and the wall thickness play a crucial role for me. Every piece I got has the potential to become a good flute. Also very good customer service.

I made my second order at this shop and the quality of the pieces was again very good. But what is really unique with this online shop is the extremely helpful support and contact with the seller. I can always tell my special interests via messenger and he handpicked pieces shaped for my personal needs. And this at discount prices! I have been searching the internet for shakuhachi bamboo a lot and I would say this is the best place to get shakuhachi bamboo if you don‘t harvest it on your own.
In Germany it takes about two months to be delivered from China, so this should be concerned. Better to order now than when you need the bamboo ;)

The bamboo arrived finally after some time. There was very patient customer support during the whole shipping process.
The bamboo is exactly what I was looking for. There have been no cracks and the root ends were not damaged at harvest. The sections of the internodes are placed for a classic finger hole positioning at every single piece. The poles really seem to be handpicked by someome who has knowledge about shakuhachi. Every single pole has an elegant light bend with no extreme curves and diameters are as ordered. I am very happy with my order and every piece seems to have the potential to become a beautiful flute.
