Lengte: Variërend van 75 tot 100 cm (29,5 tot 39,4 inch), geschikt voor verschillende muziekinstrumenten.
Wanddikte: Ongeveer 0,7 tot 1,0 cm (0,27" tot 0,39").
Binnendiameter (ID): Gesorteerd op binnendiameter van 1,8 tot 3,7 cm (0,63" tot 1,45"). Gewicht: Het gemiddelde gewicht voor stokken met een binnendiameter van 2,0 tot 2,1 cm is ongeveer 350-400 gram.
Materiaal: Gemaakt van Madake bamboe (Phyllostachys bambusoides), bekend om zijn sterkte en flexibiliteit.
Leeftijd en voorbereiding: Geselecteerd uit bamboe van 5-15 jaar oud, met focus op de dikkere wand nabij de wortel (ongeveer 10 mm). Deze stokken zijn zorgvuldig meer dan 3 jaar gedroogd om stabiliteit te garanderen en scheuren te voorkomen.
Uniek karakter: Elke stok is uniek, zeldzaam en handmatig geselecteerd door ervaren fluitenmakers, bekend om hun hardheid, hoge vezeldichtheid en oliegehalte. Als u grote Madake (of moso) bamboe nodig heeft met een binnendiameter van 2,9–3,7 cm, moet deze speciaal geoogst worden; de verwerking duurt ongeveer 8–10 dagen. U ontvangt verse groene Madake bamboe (na ontvangst moet deze meer dan 5 maanden in de schaduw worden gedroogd totdat hij geel wordt, waarna hij gebruikt kan worden om een shakuhachi te maken).

I ordered a second set of green bamboo with large diameter for big bore jinashi. Steven harvested them extra for me, as 3,5cm inner diameter are not available in the shop.
Now I can show all stages from green to dried to finished shakuhachi. Drying worked well by using plastic bags, opening and closing them for controlling humidity. No serious cracks happened. But you need to wait at least half a year before making. I tried one piece after two months which was too soon. All shakuhachi I made after half a year drying them are still free from cracks and I made my own students flute from these poles and use it daily. Steven is really there to talk about the needs of his customers and tries best to fit them.
I was looking for some extra large diameter for big bore shakuhachi that was not offered in the shop. Tiger steven responded to my request and got some bamboo in this diameter harvested especially for my needs. I received it green so I can dry it myself. It was well packed and arrived in good condition. Like always, every piece is useful and worth the price. Thanks for taking the effort to help me with the diameter I was looking for!

I ordered here again and now made several flutes from this bamboo already. I am very happy with the results. I only make Jinashi flutes in old style with nodes not filed down completely, so the placement of the nodes and the wall thickness play a crucial role for me. Every piece I got has the potential to become a good flute. Also very good customer service.

I made my second order at this shop and the quality of the pieces was again very good. But what is really unique with this online shop is the extremely helpful support and contact with the seller. I can always tell my special interests via messenger and he handpicked pieces shaped for my personal needs. And this at discount prices! I have been searching the internet for shakuhachi bamboo a lot and I would say this is the best place to get shakuhachi bamboo if you don‘t harvest it on your own.
In Germany it takes about two months to be delivered from China, so this should be concerned. Better to order now than when you need the bamboo ;)
