Tonkin Bamboo Tenkara Rod Kits – Custom Lengths up to 4.2m
Handcrafted by a master rod maker with 30 years of experience, our kits use mature Tonkin bamboo aged 4–5 years or older. Each section is carefully selected, hand-straightened and prepared with internal nodes removed.
Standard Sizes
2.7m / Approx. 9ft: 3 bamboo sections + 1 bamboo handle.
3.6m / Approx. 12ft: 4 bamboo sections + 1 bamboo handle.
Custom lengths up to 4.2m are available, including 3.0m, 3.3m, 3.9m and 4.2m. Section dimensions and joints are designed by our experienced rod maker.
Finish Options
DIY Semi-Finished Kit: Requires thread wrapping at the joints and a protective finish. Additional fittings and materials should be sourced locally.
Finished Rod: Joints already thread-wrapped and a protective finish applied.
Bamboo naturally varies in shape and size. Slight dimensional differences are normal, and all measurements are approximate.

Preparation takes 1–2 weeks. Free tracked shipping is included, with estimated delivery of 2–4 weeks for packages under 20kg.
